Tadi tengahari, I sompek menyompek kan diri menonton 1957: HATI MALAYA kat TGV KLCC. TQ to Volks n Hook yang provided me with the details of the screening.

Im not really reviewing the movie, but i just want to share my viewing experience.

THE OPENING

The opening gave me goosebumps. The shots and how they edited the scenes as well as the presenting of the character. Narratively simple and straight forward, yet done is a beautiful way. With Siti belting out HATI, the OST, my, I cant wait to see what is up next.

The story begun in 1940-sumthing *die la I was not focusing kan* The subtitling of whats happening according to historical facts at the bottom left and right on the screen was really helpful.

How Datuk Onn was featured.. I like.. ang Joanna Bassey as the mat salleh siap with english accent.. wonderful!

Eh, I want to watch it again lah... i guess i was too absorbed with emotion while watching it just now. Or maybe im just too tired today. Hurm. Cant think straight. Nanti la, i update balik *die la ALASAN*

some costumes - Joanna Bassey's especially - and her as the english lady
Che Kem (Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra) - He is GOOD!
Ang Lee - Douglas Lim
Artistic Direction , editing, COLOUR and TEXTURE of the whole film
Nanu as Sharifah Rodziah - Sukeeee sangat!
Scene BOCOR - i really felt MAD
Scene Chinese HAll of Commerce - this I really CRIED, i dunno why. I was just overwhelmed.
Proclaimation of Independence di Melaka - another tear jerker for me *me eyes welling up now*
Sultan Abdul Samad Building (MERDEKA) scene
SceneTunku berarak di Bandar Hilir masa balik dr UK with people lining up... the actors lining up and CGI'd with old footange - I broke down too, I could imagine whats it like, as if i was there *EMO LA AKU!!*
Scene Datuk Onn kat umah dgn wife n son, masa 31 Ogos. this too was a tearjerker for me.
*ade lagi, tapi i kene watch it again*

Dislikes:
Ade la jugak kan, esp Pakaian Sultan2 Melayu. Huhu, ade ke pakai SONGKET PAKISTAN?! ade lak yang TAK SEDONDON. Samping ikat Jumaat.. MOTIF? anyways, the casting for the Sultans were ok lah. I liked Mustafa Maarof best. Dato' Jins, personally la for me, did not do a good job as Sultan Ibrahim.

Saya faham sangat bila membabitkan extra yang ramai, terutama bila nak jaga pakaian. Ade gak terlepas satu mamat berbaju johor SATIN KELABU!! masa tu org ellaki x pakai SATIN.. hehe.. And also songkok Indonesia.. yang haji2 pakai kaler putih ade sulam benang perak... also terlepas. And then Scene TAR *kalu x silap ler* took over UMNO, ade gak xtra sorang pakai baju melayu, obviously of this era, hehe. Ade satu scene tu plak, nampak rambut IQram nyer HIGHLIGHTS... 2-3 seconds, tapi i noticed it la. hehe. Che Dee Hasnan jgn marah noh.. Saye pun paham keje ni... nak detail, tapi saya faham constraintsnyer.. ni just nak share aje. U did a great Job on the wardrobe :) Tak banyak la yang I tak suka, bukan tak suka, tapi kelemahan manusia, yang insya ALLAH, boleh diperbaiki.

I guess it's how Shumi and Gang put it all together making history ALIVE with some things that happen which was never been told, or ever imagined by anyone, the emotion and love put into it.


What ever it is, I really enjoyed the movie. It gave me a more sentimental feel of the independence. And I think, I dah kenal who Datuk Onn is, who Tunku is and the people surrounding the process of Merdeka 50 Years ago and their struggles etc. Let's look at ourselves now, do we love our nation? I do. And I do not want to be colonised in what ever way ever. I want to watch it again hehehe. ...

Tunggu ape itiew???

Awat la manusia ni kan....

Especially orang Melayu. Dengki mengki, hasut masut, karut marut.

A close friend of mine rupanya kene buatan orang. ALLAH! terkejut aku bila dapat sms dari seorang yang aku hormati. Dalam sms tu dia pesan, dia nak pegi tengok kawan I ni berubat. Setahu I kawan I ni sihat wal afiat, cuma he is suffering from gout (at 30?!) well, apa2 pun possible.

So, untuk mendapatkan pengesahan, I called him up. Tanye terus terang, and he mengaku yang dia dalam proses perubatan. He never sounded like that before. Tak boleh bercakap sangat, tapi bukan la slurring, tapi mcm ade ulcer mulut yang tahap kritikal. I mmg menitis air mata dgr suara dia.

Friend, if you happen to read this entry, pls kuatkan hati, usaha melawan sehabis boleh, fikirkan yang positif. Kuatkan hati dengan Zikrullah. Lawanlah dengan berpegang kepada kalimah La Illahailallah. Selalu ingat akanNYA. Dan bertawakal.

Ya ALLAH, pls kuatkan kawan ku ini. Pls give him the strength to go through this. Please berikan kami, kawan-kawan hamba Mu itu kekuatan dan hidayah untuk kami membantu kawan kami dengan apa cara sekalipun. Amin.

My Syawal

Salam. It already has been a week and I still had not penned down anything about my Syawal this year.

All I could say is, it's been great. Alhamdulillah.

I took leave on the Thursday leading to Syawal.

Thursday 11/10/07 @ 29 Ramadan 1428

Woke up late. Ikut plan, lepas subuh nak kua dah. ADO? kua kul 9. hehe. So agenda Khamis tu was like this:

Lepas pi Tesco Extra tu, disebabkan nan ado tempeh dan daun kesum, I singgah pasar Tani Sek 17 PJ, Kat situ end up getting Ketupat Palas 20 biji and Rendang Tok Mak Nik sekilo for RM35.

Then sent my sis to LRT Paramount, dia nak pi KLCC jumpe hubby dia.

Lepaih tu ZZOOOOMMM ke Mydin USJ.

I spent about berapa jam ek? kul 3 sampai kul 6 kot kat situ.. then rush back for Iftar.

Malam tu plak, lepas terawih terakhir *sob*sob*, mula la operasi kemas umah. Huhuhu.

Jumaat 12/10/07 @ 30 Ramadan 1428

Lepas subuh x tido, terus pi pasang lampu lip lap kat balcony, x sompek buek wiring. Then about 7.30 pi Pasar Jalan Othman. Kat sana pi beli:

Plastik meja
Tempeh
Kacang siap proses
Bendi
Bunge Melur

Lepas Pasar Jalan Osman, Singgah seksyen 14, hantar baju Mak ke 5-a-sec and pi renew license. Selamatt aku ade lesen baru :) matinye tahun 2012.

Lepas tu terus ZZZOOOOOMM ke IKEA. Pi beli lampshade dengan frame gambau. Last2 frame gambau tu pose2 dalam almari je. HAHA.

Balik dr Ikea, terus pi FLORISTIKA. Beli fresh flowers for the house and to bring to kubur.

By the time i got home from Floristika, it was already 1145, terus pi KJ potong rambut. Lepas tu rush balik umah, mandi n pi Solat Jumaat.

Seusai Jumaat, i terus ke Tesco Extra balik, beli Ais Krim Soda sekarton dan sunquick. Untuk dihidang kepada tetamu esok. Huhu. Rush back, cari kuih utk berbuka, tapi dah nan ado org jual.

Sampai je kat umah, ketupat dah naik. Tapi rendang semua lom lagi. Sian tgk Mak aku, dia dah tahap kempot dah, risau ok. So i took over the dapur. I first made my Kuah Asam Pedas Ikan Pari. Lepas yang tu tengah didih atas dapur, settlekan Kuah Kacang lak. Then it rainedddddd. Lepas ujan reda, sempat ni pi siapkan wiring lip lap, then pi isi minyak tanah bagai. Huuuu. By that time, my mom dok pop in ayam dalam microwave utk rendang dia. Rendang shortcut nama nye tu. hehe. Pas tu dok susun bunga here there everywhere.

So, Azan Maghrib pun bergema. Berakhir sudah Ramadan tahun ini. Alunan Puji Pujian kepadaNYA berkumandang di sini sana. Selesai je berbuka hari terakhir tu, pelita ku nyalakan.. KAKAKA.. soo Ziana n Awie. hehe. Then mula la sibuk kemas umah dan ape yang patut. Susun living room bagai. Kul 2 pagi macam tu dah tertido kat sofa depan.. haha.

Subuh Syawal, kul 5 dah terjaga, Al Maklum, sebulan bersahur kan. So sedar-sedar aje, Solat Isya dulu, then terus susun apa yang patut, kiranya finishing touches la. Then kuarkan bunga melur dari fridge, letak dalam bekas. By 6 settle. Mandi sunat then lepas je Subuh, dalam kul 630 dah gerak pi Kubur Mak Tok, Tok Seman and Sofea. Pi kejap je, jenguk2. On the way back home *oh ye, perut ala2 kureng sket pagi tu* masa stop kat traffic light sect 14 - 19, terus cilok pi kubur sek 19. Ziarah kubur arwah Salman. Arwah ni classmate i masa form 1, 3 and 4. Dia meninggal sebab leukemia. Masa kat kubur tu, terus terlintas, betapa ALLAH memberikan nikmatNYA tanpa henti kat aku. Sedangkan kawan setingkatan dengan aku, 2 orang ye, ajalnya sampai awal. Subhanallah. Dah 30 tahun aku hidup, berapa tahun dari situ yang aku betul2 mengabdikan diri aku. isk isk.

Lepas tu baru pi Solat Eid kat masjid Kolej Islam. I wore my black cotton Baju Teluk Belanga siap dengan monogram in diamonte. hehe. Kire i wore this dari pegi kubur saaaaampai ke petang Raya pertama tu. Balik solat Eid, singgah SHELL sek 17 beli air batu, then balik umah. Sampai2 aje, My mom tgh sibuk kemas antique cupboard kat dining area. Aiyo. Kuah lodeh tak masak lagi ni, also the sambal tumis. Isk, never tau pagi Eid kul 10 camtu mende2 tak masak lagi. So, mrasa slip on apron dan MEMASAK lagi. hehe.

Kuah Lodeh and Sambal Tumis kosong, settle. Then hidang-hidang pulak lauk bagai, setting meja itu ini. Potong kek lapis, kek kukus. Huhuhu, bancuh air. Gile ONE MAN SHOW. But, Alhamdulillah, I enjoyed every second of it.

For me, Raya tahun ni yang paling terasa Raya nya itu. Mengapa? biarlah diri empunya body dan Pencipta beliau yang tahu. What ever it is. I really miss Ramadan already. Entah tahun depan dapat jumpe atau tak. Wallahualam. And so I pray that i would carry out whatever i have done and tinggalkan dalam Ramadan ke hari hari berikutnya sehingga bertemu Ramadan kembali. Insya ALLAH.

As for the first week of Syawal today. I have taken another leap in my life. I just want this short note to be a reminder to myself. About today. About 2 am. I am still awaiting Lea's email response. I am still dazed. I hope I could be what is expected of me. Like a friend said to me: dont waste it.

Ya Allah. Help me and keep me to Your path.

19 Ramadan

Well, MALAM INI BERMULALAH.... MALAM ke 20 Ramadan. Dah masuk 3rd Phase. I have so much to catch up with. Insya ALLAH terlaksana. Anything can happen insya ALLAH.

10 Malam terakhir - one of these nights is Lailatul Qadar, satu malam yang menjanjikan ganjaran seribu bulan. Masya ALLAH. Subhanallah.

Gosh. Ramadan is breezing thru. Kejap sangat but, Alhamdulillah so far so good. Thank ALLAH for letting me be so close with my mom this year. Mana tak nye, bersahur pun dua orang aje. Entah tahun depan dapat ke idak. Wallahualam.

Semalam terawih lagi kat Masjid KJ sebab lepas je abes Solat Qiam, terus pi USJ, pi MYDIN. Mak n Bapak pesan belikan kain batik nak diberi orang. So memandangkan masa mcm takde je for me, so eloklah disegerakan permintaan orang kan?

Lepas tu singgah umah Kak Saemah hanta Shantung, then pi Vichuda Tom Yam kat DU (Uptown lama) tar pau lauk untuk bersahur. Sian Mak, sebab dah xde idea nak masak ape, I pun dah blur dah.

I hope kami sekeluarga diizinkanNYA untuk lebih bertakwa danlebih banyak beribadat this last 10 days *sedey ooo* and hope *really-really-really hope* this would go on after Ramadan and into next Ramadan. Insya ALLAH.
